Discipleship
Colossians 1:28, "Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ."
We believe in investing in the next generation. One of Milwood’s central core values is to fulfill the call of Colossians 1:28. We aim to do this by offering weekly opportunities to study the Bible, meeting weekly for fellowship and prayer, and living the Christian life in community in order to know one another and share one another’s burdens.
We use our Sunday mornings and Wednesday evening ministries to strategically offer material and time for each child and student to learn God’s Word, but also to develop relationships with one another as they grow older and near adulthood. One way we do this is through LifeGroups. Another is through our Sunday Morning Bible Studies titled “Building Blocks” and a third way is by our Wednesday night Youth Ministry called “The Gathering." Lastly, we aim to strengthen our relationships with one another through monthly fellowship and the fun activities our church offers for Students.
More than anything, we want them to know the joy of a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and to be grounded in Him once they graduate from High School and enter into the next chapter of their lives.

LifeGroups
With one accord they continued to meet daily in the temple courts and to break bread from house to house, sharing their meals with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. - Acts 2:46-47
What Are LifeGroups?
LifeGroups are weekly gathering times where families, couples and individuals meet together to share food, connect with one another and study the Bible. We believe that LifeGroups are a key component to staying in community with one another and regularly studying God’s Word. LifeGroups meet for approximately two hours per week on a designated night of the week. Contact the church office or the LifeGroup Leader directly for more information.
Milwood Student Ministry

Milwood’s Student Ministry exists to come alongside parents and help them raise their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Eph 6:4, Deut 6). We seek to build a firm, gospel-centered foundation for students in middle school and high school through the study and application of God’s Word. Our desire is not just to see students affirm faith in Christ, but to strengthen their faith and prepare them for what God has planned next for them in the years to come.
Wednesday Evenings
The core of our youth ministry is our Wednesday night gathering. The first Wednesday of each month is a time of fellowship, food, and fun at the Leader’s house. Most Wednesdays, the students gather to play a game, sing a few hymns, hear Bible teaching, and talk about the teaching and their lives in small groups.
Seeds Children's Ministry

"...from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus." (2 Timothy 3:15)
Seeds is the children's ministry of Milwood Baptist Church offered for infants and children up through the fourth grade. All children's classes meet on the first floor, to the right of the Fellowship Hall.
Room 102: Nursery
For little ones under 5 years of age, we sing, read Bible story books, and play. Babies and Toddlers and released to their classes after the last song of worship.
Room 105: Elementary Age (Kindergarten-4th grade)
Using the The Biggest Story curriculum, we teach kids week by week, going through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation with a healthy emphasis on the Gospel. For this age group, we emphasize prayer, illustration, and discussion throughout teaching to help kids make real-life connections as they learn God's Word. Elementary-age children are released to their classes after the last song of worship.
Check-in
Prior to service, please print out a name tag for your child at the laptop kiosk. Put one sticker tag on the child's clothing and keep one to present it upon checking out your child.
All of our volunteers enjoy working with kids and desire to love and teach them the Word of God. They have completed child training and have background checks on file. For further information on safety and protocols, please refer to the Seeds Handbook.
